Valentino met pensioen

Bye bye Valentino, we zullen je missen! De Italiaanse designer heeft gisterenmiddag officieel zijn pensioen aangekondigd. In oktober zal hij zijn laatste show geven, waarna het stokje wordt overgedragen aan een nog nader bekend te maken opvolger, die overigens al wel gevonden is.

In Juli hield Valentino nog een spectaculair Valentino jubileum feest in Rome ter viering van het 45jarig bestaan van het modehuis. 

Aan de pers liet hij weten: ''I have decided that this is the perfect moment to say adieu to the world of fashion. My future will be filled with new interests and challenges. Some may be linked to fashion, as I have a strong desire to create and support institutions to promote the study of fashion design, and to preserve the history of the art of fashion.''
